Corda

The Corda armchair is a bridge between tradition and modernity. Its characteristic element are clear lines juxtaposed that outline the body of the chair in space. Corda in Italian means string, which became the inspiration for the project. Parallel rods of legs and armrests, as well as strained strings give the armchair a rhythm and harmony.

Each chair line is necessary due to its design, but also selected so that it creates a harmonious whole. The decoration is the resulting radially arranged pattern on the backrest. Its clear and elegant form is combined with high comfort of use. The arrangement of the rods, their diameter and distances are selected so that the armchair can sit comfortably for long hours. An additional element is the cushion increasing the comfort of using the seat.
Corda chairs are part of the terrace equipment of the manor house in Dłużew - one of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw buildings.
The project was awarded in the "Młodzi na start" competition organized by Elle Decoration and been a part of the exhibition taking place in the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia as part of the Gdynia Design Days.
